Since its inception in 1949 by Lt. Gen. Julian C. Smith, the Second Marine Division Association (SMDA) has grown steadily with thousands of members. The Camp Lejeune-based organization includes officers and enlisted men and women who are proud of their service. Our members continue their friendships with old and new comrades, and they perpetuate the spirit and traditions of the Marine Corps. Our association has 13 state or regional SMDA chapters around the country.

If you are a Marine or sailor who served with the Second Marine Division or a supporting unit, you should be one of us.  Click on "Join Us" to learn more.

Members are kept well informed of news and matters of interest through the newsletter FOLLOW ME. This quarterly  newsletter is mailed directly to each member and can be downloaded from this website. "Follow Me" is a lively journal with news of future reunions, state chapter events, letters to the editor, with current and vintage photos. Click on "Follow Me" to learn more.

The Second Marine Division is led by a dedicated National Staff.
